Optimizing a plastic part design for manufacturability and quality typically requires modifying the geometry. This task can be especially challenging if you do not have access to the CAD system in which the part design was originally created. With Autodesk® Moldflow® 2012, you can use Autodesk® Inventor® Fusion to modify or simplify geometry more quickly and easily, helping to optimize plastic part designs for manufacturability and quality as fast as possible. Autodesk® Inventor® Fusion is innovative, Digital Prototyping technology that's changing the way people work with 3D mechanical design software and changing the simulation workflow. Autodesk® Moldflow® 2012 users now have quick, intuitive geometry editing in order to make changes to 3D geometry from the most common CAD modelers and neutral file formats without the need to use an additional seat of CAD software. For example, you can change the thickness of part walls or adjust the position or dimensions of features such as ribs or bosses. You can even add new features to the model. Make iterative design changes without redefining materials, loads, constraints, or other simulation data by working with the native CAD format, exchanging geometry and related data directly with Autodesk® Inventor® Fusion. By simply clicking and dragging, you can easily modify and update CAD geometry -- helping to consider a greater...
